Best Black Friday Deals for Pets
We’ve heard of some crazy shiz happening on Black Friday. Remember last year when a woman in Los Angeles tried to improve her chances of buying cheap Xbox video games at a Walmart by blasting pepper spray on a crowd of shoppers? That act of genius resulted in 20 people suffering minor injuries; the poor gal was perhaps shell shocked by too many hours playing “Call of Duty”. Luckily for us, owning a pet is much less stressful and unlike serious gamers, serious pet owners are a little more calm in their shopping approach.
I say this because this year we have a reason to be. Tons of retailers are doing Black Friday sales, but a few respected retails are really trimming the fat for Black Friday…which will be good timing after that rich Thanksgiving meal! Leave the pepper spray at home, cuddle your pet and join us for an online shopping trip!
Stop One: PetSmart – 50% off
PetSmart is doing one heck of a Black Friday sale. You can save up to 50% during PetSmart.com’s Black Friday Sale on November 22 and 23. The flyer says the sale starts on November 23, but it actually begins online on the 22nd so get a head start! Dog beds are up to 55% off and if you do feel like venturing out, PetSmart stores in Canada and the US open at 7:00am. Perhaps you can take your pooch for a “Pawdicure” (nail trimming, nail grinding and ear cleaning) while you shop, as it’s 50% off and no appointments are necessary! Most of the in-store Black Friday offers require use of the store’s PetPerks savings card, but if you don’t have one, no worries – you can get one from the cashier. Word on the street is that there will be 50% off select brands daily Nov. 27-29, so check back throughout the week.
On a side note, even though they’re a big box store, we give props to PetSmart as they largest funder of animal welfare efforts in North America and have provided over $165 million in grants and programs benefiting animal welfare organizations. In addition, their in-store pet adoption program has helped save the lives of more than 5 million pets.

Stop Three: Entirely Pets
EntirelyPets is going to be offering online deals from 9:00am until 11:00am (Pacific Time) on Friday only. On what? Well, to be honest…we don’t have a hot clue. There’s no hints or teasers – but they’re promising some great deals. I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see.
Stop Four: 1-800-Pet-Meds
1-800-PetMeds has their entire online store on sale up to 46% off and they give you free shipping on orders over $39. Thumbs up to their guarantees; their “Price Match” guarantee on any FDA/EPA approved product and their “100% Happy Guarantee”, which gets you reimbursed if you order the wrong size, you pet doesn’t like it, your pet gets heartworm or you simply change your mind. We had to put this in…you know when there’s a great sale and you want to just shop for the fun stuff but you know you need to get boring things like toilet paper, toothpaste and Beano? Yeah, that stuff is on sale too.
