An Abused Dog and A Prison Inmate Give Each Other A Second Chance (Grab The Tissues!)

“Castaways” is a new documentary series about a rehabilitation program that pairs prison inmates with unwanted dogs for re-introduction, rehabilitation and adoption. The show displays the challenges and successes that both prisoners and dogs face and how a second chance and a little bit of love can give both man and beast a new start, while serving and saving each other.

Meet Esther. She’s a beautiful lab who was severely abused in a puppy mill. Neglect and abuse left her virtually unadoptable, and then the K-9 Companion Program stepped in. What do you think of her inspiring story? How many tissues did you go through? We went through half a box.
