Here’s What Happens When Cheetahs Play With Kids

For one family, cheetahs are treated as ordinary house cats! A documentary titled “Cheetah House” is being filmed showing the relationship between two cheetahs and the family.
The cheetahs, Wakku and Skyla, were born about a year ago at an animal reserve in Albertinia, South Africa. When they didn’t think the cats were getting enough milk and nutrition from their mother, the Schoemans stepped in and adopted the cubs, and welcomed them into their home.
Kim and Hein Schoeman are experienced animal trainers who live and work on a reserve. Their children, one-year-old Kayla and her 3-year-old brother, Malan, see the cheetahs as their playmates! The cheetahs are never excluded from family activities and roam wild through the house. The Schoemans hope this documentary can show how people and wild animals can bond.
